The role involves maintaining HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure comfort and safety for residents, as well as performing installations and repairs as necessary.

Responsibilities
Maintain the center's HVAC, refrigeration, and retherm equipment in proper operation for the comfort and safety of residents
Check and maintain all refrigerators, freezers, milk coolers, and walk-in boxes
Install new refrigeration and related equipment, as well as new HVAC and related equipment when necessary
Make adjustments and repairs to heating systems
Maintain central air conditioning units
Operate and maintain refrigerant recovery and recycling equipment
Assist electricians as required
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment; or
Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment
You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification types 1, 2, and 3, from an approved provider within 6 months of employment
This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
