PIPEFITTER TRAINING LEADER

PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF is looking for a PIPEFITTER TRAINING LEADER to serve in their PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT. The role involves instructing and preparing training materials for employees and military personnel, while also maintaining records and reports of trainee progress.

Responsibilities

You will instruct employees and military personnel in such types of training as trade theory, on-the-job, safety and health, tools, equipment and materials
You will prepare lesson plans and training materials, including visual aids, for the development of learning through classroom and on-the-job situations
You will teach basic trade non-nuclear theory and practical work, including but not limited to the principles, concepts, terminology, processes and practices of the trade
You will counsel employees on the day-to-day problems involving non-nuclear trade theory and trade practices
You will maintain non-nuclear records and prepare reports of progress and performance of each trainee both in work experience onboard non-nuclear ships and in the shop
You will ensure all scheduling and coordinating of practical non-nuclear work in the shop is accomplished as closely as possible with the progression of learning the elements of the trade theory

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment

This is a bargaining unit position
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
You must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements
