They are seeking a Principal Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams in developing complex engineering solutions and ensure the successful execution of test solution projects from inception through deployment.

Responsibilities

Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes

Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments

Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path

Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule)

Ensure project meets quality expectations

Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership

Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams

Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

7+ years of Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems engineering experience

7+ years of project management experience. Fundamental project management skills including baseline control, earned value, and risk management

Preferred

Mastery of Agile process and principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Project

Proficiency in Jira

Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals

Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks

Proven ability to facilitate difficult conversations and communicate early and concisely with individuals at all organizational levels
