Strategy and Business Development Director

Responsibilities

Responsibility for mentoring GDMS Top Opportunity capture managers in all aspects of strategy, business development, capture, and developing winning proposals
Data driven decision making using cost modeling and Price-to-Win (PTW) analysis
Shaping the future – developing early opportunity win strategies and solutions that influence our ability to win new business
Driving change into the organization; conducting independent, critical analysis that results in strong recommendations to capture managers and business area leaders
An enterprise capture leadership training program and the ability to train future capture managers
Partnering with capture and proposal managers to integrate win strategies and innovative solutions into compliant, compelling and easy to evaluate proposals
Working with the capture manager to keep the LOB leadership apprised of issues preventing the successful delivery of a compliant and compelling proposal
Ability to shape the future landscape of GDMS by working on the most important capture opportunities in the company and helping us win
Working within the Strategy and Business Development (SBD) organization and with other functional areas (e.g. finance, contracts, human resources, facilities, etc.), to deliver winning proposals
Up to 30% travel

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated leadership; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 13 years of demonstrated leadership
U.S. citizenship is required
Must be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance
Extensive experience in having defined and executed successful strategies to grow business
Broad market awareness, to include budgets, customer priorities, mission gaps and market dynamics
Extensive knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices
Expertise in all facets of the business development process including proposal development and management
Demonstrated ability to rapidly digest multiple sources of information or change, assess impact on current strategies, and provide specific and actionable recommendations
Recognized ability to build relationships with senior level customers and internal counterparts
Creative thinking with the ability to support multiple engagements simultaneously
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Examples of having identified, pursued and won large or complex capture efforts in areas related to GDMS business
A clear understanding of the roles of the various functions within the defense contracting business and an in-depth understanding of U.S. Department of Defense acquisition process and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
The ability to digest, synthesize and communicate complex tasks, quickly
Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company
Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success

Preferred

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire
Intelligence Community (IC) clearance a plus
Experience with Intelligence Community (IC) acquisition process, customers, or programs a plus
Experience with Other Transactions (OTs) a plus
