Residential Funds and Benefits Specialist

They are hiring a Residential Funds and Benefits Specialist to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accurate tracking of funds by program staff.

Responsibilities

Oversee the residential management of financial accounts (personal allowance, clothing accounts, etc) for individuals residing in IRAs and Supportive Apartments, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
Collaborate with residential leadership, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain Personal Expenditure Plans (PEPs) tailored to individual needs
Monitor and report on individuals’ budgetary performance, identifying and recommending areas for financial improvement
Review monthly ledgers, verifying cash-on-hand balances against banking records for individual’s accounts
Conduct comprehensive Personal Allowance audits annually for individuals receiving residential supports. Ensure findings are shared and corrective action plans are developed and implemented
Serve as the liaison with state and federal auditors during reviews of individual benefits, personal allowances, and clothing allowances
Maintain strict compliance with state, federal, and Wildwood policies regarding personal fund management
Work collaboratively with the Business Office, Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Residential Leadership to strengthen financial practices and safeguard individual funds
Support the Certified Benefits Practitioner (CBP) in maintaining and renewing benefits (Social Security, OPWDD, Social Services - Medicaid, SNAP benefits) for individuals

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
At least one-year related experience (financial management, auditing, securing benefits) and 2 years experience in OPWDD setting
Computer skills: Word processing, Google suite; E-mail and database software
A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage
Daily access to a vehicle

Preferred

Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
Familiarity with benefits programs (SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, SNAP)
