2+ years expHolder Construction is currently seeking a Field Engineer Technician to support our Field Supervision in Richmond. The ideal candidate will thrive in a challenging environment and will be responsible for operating surveying instruments and providing support to field supervision.

Responsibilities
Operating electronic total station instrument, transit, Auto-level and other surveying instruments
Sets and marks stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes
Determines and sets markers
Determines lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances
Maintains total station and field book
Maintains survey equipment and tools
Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues
Qualification
Required
2 years of construction/surveying experience using total station and site levels
High school diploma/GED
Complete understanding of surveying math
Good communication skills
Agile/mobile
Ability to remain alert
Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
Ability to use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects
Ability to climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects
Ability to work on uneven surfaces/heights
Ability to read/write
Ability to see & hear well either naturally or with correction
Ability to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50 lbs., 75% of the time
Ability to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment
Ability to work outside
Ability to work overtime and weekend hours
Punctuality and promptness are required every day
