Trailer Service Technician II - AM Shift

They are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Trailer Service Technician II to be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers, ensuring their proper operation and safety.

Responsibilities

Proficient understanding of inspecting and repairing components on 48 and 53 ft dry van trailers and can effectively diagnose and repair the following components

Suspension components

Landing gear assembly and components

Wheel components and tires

Brake and air components

Electrical, lighting and wiring components

Rear frame and door components

Side, nose and roof components

Interior and floor components

Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs

Demonstrate a proficient level of welding and metal fabrication skill

Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently

Enter data documenting all work performed into Fleet Maintenance System

Perform service calls and test vehicles to ensure quality repair services were performed

Mentor, teach and share expertise with Trailer Technician I’s to aid in their development

Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe working order

Adhere to all safety requirements, wear proper Personal Protective Equipment as required by the job

Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations

Will be required to complete all general company and job specific safety training

Adhere to company and department policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, housekeeping and attendance

Pass ASE Certifications as assigned in your individual development plan

Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as assigned

Required

Ability to communicate repair issues to Fleet Manager or lead mechanic daily

Ability to manage time efficiently, completing work in time allotted

Moderate knowledge of OSHA safety regulations

Moderate knowledge of EPA environmental regulations

Technicians must provide their own basic tools necessary to perform maintenance inspections and repairs; Diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by JAF

Proficient computer skills

High School graduate or GED equivalent

Minimum 4 years of Trailer Mechanic experience with 48 and 53 ft dry van trailers and their components

CDL Class A required with no or limited moving violations in previous 3 years
