Responsibilities
Administers and serves as functional lead for administering one or more of the listed Financial Aid programs as needed on a cyclical basis and as directed by supervisor(s). Federal Programs: Pell, SEOG, FWS, Loans, QAP, R2T4, Dependency Overrides, Concurrent Enrollments, Consortiums, State Programs: FSAG, Bright Futures, State Scholarships. Institutional Programs: NSE, Institutional Grants, Institutional Scholarships, private loans, private scholarships, private programs
Acts as a change agent in all matters regarding the improvement and efficiency of projects. Researches and analyzes complex problems and recommends and implements appropriate solutions
Assures staff is trained to support the administration of aforementioned programs and compliance requirements
Assists with recruitment. Facilitates university's orientation and high school outreach to present financial aid information to prospective students and parents
Provides counseling and advise prospective students, parents and continuing students regarding financial aid procedures and regulations
Analyzes applicants and their family's personal circumstances to establish their ability to contribute toward the cost of education. Counsels current and prospective students on application procedures, eligibility criteria, program requirements, and other financial aid concerns
Delivers timely customer service to constituents and support units. Provides customer service support via telephone, email, in-person, and via live chat to execute efficient, expedient, and quality solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of financial aid or related experience or a Master's degree and two (2) years of financial aid or related experience
Must be able to obtain clearance for National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) access within 60 days of employment
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Ability to travel locally and nationally
Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Preferred
Proficiency in financial aid software and database systems
Previous supervisory experience
Experience presenting to small and/or large groups
Experience partnering with others in the University community
