Youth Adult Borough Center - Program Participant- Internship
The Child Center of NY is seeking participants for their Learning To Work Internship Program at the Flushing YABC. The role involves attending classes, maintaining attendance and GPA, and working with coordinators to achieve career learning goals while demonstrating responsibility and punctuality.

Responsibilities
Have a valid Social Security number; you must be a legal resident or a United States citizen to be paid for the internship program. Have working papers if you are under the age of 18
Students are able to work fifteen to twenty hours per week on the days and hours that they are not scheduled to be in class. The amount of weekly hours will be determined on an individual basis. Each student will be paid $15.00 per hour
Attend all scheduled classes at school, as well as mandatory LTW seminar on Monday’s at 3pm
Must maintain an 85% attendance and 80% GPA to remain in the LTW program. If you consistently cut classes, and/ or are absent from class you will be terminated from the internship program. Please be RESPONSIBLE
Arrive at the internship site on or before start time, every day you are scheduled to work. If you must be absent, contact the LTW Coordinator (Ms. Peña) and Workplace Mentor, 2 hours prior to scheduled start time
Demonstrate honesty, punctuality, positive attitude, proper dress and a willingness to learn
Work with the LTW Coordinator (Ms. Peña) and the Worksite Mentor to achieve career learning goals
Participate in weekly LTW Seminars and complete all assignments
Ask Worksite Mentor if unclear about any assignments
Discuss any challenges with LTW Coordinator (Ms. Peña) and Worksite Mentor
Maintain confidentiality, follow all workplace rules and regulations
Hand in written timesheets, as well as complete ADP timecard with approval, every 2 weeks. Failure to do so will result in pay delays. If you falsify your work hours you will be immediately terminated and may be subject to legal ramifications
