Sales Engineer

Responsibilities
Understand the workflows of our end customers and educate and train our distribution partners on how Trimble solutions complement and optimize those workflows
Communicate with the end customer to understand their pain points and create a solution that may encompass varying solutions across the Trimble portfolio
Ensure that the channel can quote, install and commission these solutions
Work closely with the sales and technical staff of our distribution partners to improve the technical selling process and the after sales installation and commissioning phases
Work with the training department to determine training needs of the dealer and help develop the necessary content
Provide on the job training in an organized fashion
Listen to dealers and customers about their needs and provide valuable 'voice of customer' back to the Business Area for future development considerations
Identify technical gaps in the distribution channel and create a plan to address
Represent Trimble during various trade shows and training events throughout the year
Assist the Trimble sales manager on the 'pre sales' checklist to ensure that all the necessary information has been gathered by the dealer to accurately quote and deliver solutions
Ensure the distributor is capable of commissioning and supporting the end customer when they deploy Trimble solutions
Work with end customers to solve pain points using Trimble offerings and integrating varying platforms in a singular solution
Build effective relationships and work across multiple functions to resolve end-user needs; represent challenges faced; provide input for training needs
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated aptitude for technology; strong technical problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
Comfortable speaking to large audiences of varying backgrounds
Can articulate the value proposition of Trimble solutions to dealers and customers
Can both present and physically demonstrate Trimble solutions to dealers and customers
Strong sense of urgency as it relates to customer solutions
Strong writing skills, technical writing in particular
Physically capable of long hours on construction sites
Willingness to travel, +/-50% travel expected
Strong prioritization skills
Provide on the job training in an organized fashion
