Associate Vice President of Health System Imaging Services and Operations

Responsibilities
Provides high-level operational leadership, ensuring that the Health System functions align with the organization’s strategic vision, goals, and performance metrics
Identifies and address operational challenges, collaborating with multiple departments to streamline workflows and optimize resource allocation
Acts as a bridge between executive leadership, operational departments, and external partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
Serves as the primary liaison between the Health System and Business Affairs departments including, but not limited to, Parking Services, Auxiliary Enterprises, OSBC, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders to align Health System priorities
Oversees risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational disruptions, improve patient and staff safety, and enhance regulatory compliance
Oversees and is responsible for Guest and Patient Services
Responsible for the administration and coordination of all imaging, and clinic services at all UT Southwestern operated imaging sites within the Health System
In collaboration with the Department of Radiology, UH CEO, and key Health System Leadership, plans, develops, and implements imaging services goals, plans, and regulates standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of UT Southwestern Medical Center
Partners with the Chair of Radiology and the Vice Chair of Radiology Clinical Operations in developing and implementing quality assurance and quality improvement measures appropriate to diagnostic imaging and image-guided procedures. Ensures imaging quality monitoring and auditing, occurrence documentation, and performance improvement are current and effective
Works with clinical leaders and key stake holders to continuously monitor and improve clinical quality, customer, and patient satisfaction
Oversee the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives within the Health System, leveraging data, performance metrics, and best practices to enhance system-wide efficiency
Collaborates within UT Southwestern to develop a strategic roadmap to optimize imaging quality - including the dimensions of imaging accuracy, service, safety, stewardship, and equity
Formulates and gains approval for strategic business plans and objectives consistent with UTSW's mission, goals, and strategies
Ensures alignment between the strategic plans of the Department of Radiology and Imaging Service Line. Maintain and monitor service line business and strategic plans in coordination with the Department of Radiology and senior Health System leadership
Develops new, and enhances existing, clinical programs and services to achieve growth opportunities
Maintains contemporary knowledge of technological advancements, labor savings procedures and equipment, clinical information systems, and other state-of-the-art radiology specific systems
In collaboration with the Office of Clinical Programming and Facilities Development and the Department of Radiology, coordinates space planning, construction, and equipment purchases and implementation across sites of service within the Health System
Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all Joint Commission, state, federal, state licensing, and other applicable safety regulations as they relate to imaging services
In coordination with Radiology and Health System leaders, responsible for operations of imaging services, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost control measures without compromising quality of services
Contributes collaboratively to the development of capital planning for replacement equipment and the implementation of new technologies. Provides input into the selection and purchase of capital equipment to maintain financial stewardship while maintaining high quality care
Supports the institution’s tripartite mission in clinical care, clinical research, and education
Builds an engaged workforce through leadership, talent development, and collaborative employee relationships among faculty and staff
Partners with the Department of Radiology, Human Resources, and institutional leadership to identify top talent and support recruitment and retention efforts
Creates a culture of excellence and supportive work environment for all staff and faculty
Ensures quality of care and patient satisfaction measured by division performance and financial reviews, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and patient advocacy scores
Forms strong relationships with the various Radiology Medical Directors, Medical Group Leadership as well as with nursing, ED, and other key departments
Qualification
Required
Education Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, or related field
Experience 10 years progressively responsible, related experience, to include at least five (5) years in a supervisory capacity
Work requires exceptional interpersonal, customer service, communication, and supervisory skills
Work requires exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
Work requires demonstrated skills and/or knowledge in management, financial analysis, decision-making, problem solving, health care law, and health care policy
Work requires a demonstrated ability to exercise solid judgement and independence
Work requires ability to develop and bring to conclusion new patient service programs
Work requires ability to maintain and balance departmental finances
Work requires proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
