Colliers Engineering & Design is a trusted provider of multi-discipline engineering, design and consulting services. They are seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Intern to gain exposure to engineering and surveying while supporting a specialty that intersects civil engineering, technology, and risk management.

Responsibilities

Transform field collected electronic files into Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD) produced drawings

Work with more senior staff to produce SUE drawings

Perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD

Performs mathematical calculations and field checking of field data

Reads and understands plans and specifications

Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines

Network with current Colliers Engineering & Design professionals and gain real-life experience in consulting

In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections

Qualification

Required

Interested or currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geomatics, CADD, Engineering Technologies

Must have reliable transportation to the office/field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Possess solid problem-solving skills

Must be able to work in a high-paced environment

Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office

Be able to carry up to forty pounds of equipment up flights of stairs

Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

Basic understanding of AutoCAD
