Civil Structural Engineer (Forensic)
Metric Geo is a national engineering consulting firm seeking a Civil or Structural Engineer to join their forensics and building division in Little Rock, Arkansas. The role involves conducting forensic investigations on various properties to determine the cause of structural failures and providing technical support during claims or legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
Perform on-site investigations to assess construction, design, and material failures
Analyse structural performance and determine cause, origin, and extent of damage
Review drawings, specifications, and historical data to support findings
Prepare clear written and verbal reports outlining conclusions and recommended remediation
Manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary experts
Provide technical support and expert insight during claims or legal proceedings
Qualification
Required
B.S. or higher in Civil Engineering
P.E. licence (or E.I.T. with intent to obtain P.E. shortly)
2–10+ years of relevant civil or structural experience
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering design software
Must be comfortable with field inspections, roof access, and confined spaces
Preferred
Experience in field investigations, project management, or forensic work
