Revenue Integrity Statistician – Cerner / MHS GENESIS

The Revenue Integrity Statistician will provide advanced statistical analysis and reporting to support Revenue Integrity initiatives within the Military Health System, transforming data into decision-support analytics to detect revenue leakage and ensure compliant revenue capture.

Responsibilities
Design and execute statistical analyses to support Revenue Integrity surveillance, risk-based monitoring, and remediation prioritization
Identify trends, outliers, and revenue risk related to charge capture, DNFB, claim edits, denials, write-offs, underpayments, and cash collections
Develop statistically valid sampling methodologies to support targeted RI reviews, monitoring activities, and audit readiness
Quantify financial impact of identified issues and support prioritization and tracking of remediation efforts
Perform pre- and post-remediation analysis to evaluate effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions
Access, extract, validate, and integrate data from Cerner/MHS GENESIS and DHA-authorized enterprise data repositories, including HealtheAnalytics, HDI/HARC, M2, MDR, EAS IV, Alpha II, SSI, or similar systems, to support RI initiatives
Analyze end-to-end revenue cycle data spanning orders, documentation, charges, claims, edits, and payments, without serving as a system configuration or solution owner
Reconcile data across multiple systems of record to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit traceability
Execute SQL-based queries, statistical scripts, and analytic logic to support data validation, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and performance measurement
Develop and maintain dashboards and standardized reports using Power BI, Tableau, and advanced Excel to support RI monitoring and leadership reporting
Produce recurring and ad hoc analytic deliverables to support RI governance, operational reviews, and audit readiness activities
Document analytic methodologies, assumptions, and data sources to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and audit-ready evidence
Collaborate with Revenue Integrity leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, including clinical, coding, revenue cycle, UBO, and IT teams, to interpret analytic findings and support decision-making
Support RI workgroups by providing data-driven insights to inform issue triage, remediation planning, and escalation decisions
Present complex analytic results clearly and concisely to operational and leadership audiences
Support data quality, validation, reconciliation, and standardization of Revenue Integrity metrics
Ensure analytic outputs align with DHA audit-readiness objectives, internal controls, and compliance requirements
Safeguard PHI/PII and comply with HIPAA, DHA cybersecurity directives, and applicable data-use policies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Health Informatics, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, applied statistics, or revenue cycle data analysis
Demonstrated experience supporting Revenue Integrity, compliance, audit-focused analytics, or revenue cycle performance initiatives
Hands-on experience accessing and analyzing data from DHA and MHS enterprise data sources, such as HealtheAnalytics, HDI/HARC, M2, MDR, EAS IV, Alpha II, SSI, or similar repositories
Experience working with Cerner / MHS GENESIS data in an analytic, reporting, or decision-support capacity
Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS for statistical analysis and modeling
Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and transformation across multiple data repositories
Experience developing dashboards and analytic products using Power BI and/or Tableau
Familiarity with healthcare clinical, revenue cycle, and financial data structures
Strong understanding of Revenue Integrity concepts, including surveillance, monitoring, remediation support, and audit readiness
Ability to apply statistical methods to detect revenue leakage, assess compliance risk, and support continuous improvement
Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple analytic priorities in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
Proven ability to translate analytic results into operationally relevant, executive-ready insights
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience working in a federal, DoD, DHA, or large integrated healthcare environment strongly preferred
