Training Instructor (Environmental Health Generalist)
USAJOBS is seeking a Training Instructor (Environmental Health Generalist) to serve in the Environmental Health Branch at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and synchronizing administrative and logistical requirements for student training.

Responsibilities
Participate in curriculum related meeting, events, and training courses
Conduct Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH) training to military and civilian students on Base Camp Assessments, OEH Site Surveys, and the Individual Longitudinal Expose Record (ILER)
Incorporate new regulatory documents, technology, and lesson plans to support the Training Task Selection Board (TTSB) process
Document health risks of military and civilian students in the full spectrum of military operations which include Security Cooperation activities, combat deployment, and foreign aid disaster relief
Perform instruction-related administrative requirements, such as course scheduling, training resources allocation, classroom and instruction preparation, and management of student enrollments
Qualification
Required
Education - Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled
Experience - Specialized Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s)
Supervising or administering a training program
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis
One year of specialized experience which demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of occupational and environmental health instruction
Identifying and documenting health risks such as disease pathology for both environmental and occupational diseases for deployed personnel
Assisting in the development of occupational and environmental health training strategies, plans, and products for an organization
Utilizing knowledge of Federal, State, and local occupational health standards to input disease exposure records into a health reporting system such as Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS)
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education or Instructional Design
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09)
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain Secret background investigation
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time
This position requires moderately strenuous physical requirements to include being outside during extreme weather (hot and cold) and walking through uneven terrain to evaluate students
