Postdoctoral Scientist - Virology and Immunology
Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Laboratory of Dr. Zongdi Feng to study hepatitis virus life cycle and pathogenesis. The role involves investigating virus-host interactions and employing modern techniques to advance research in virology and immunology.

Responsibilities
Study hepatitis virus life cycle and pathogenesis
Investigate how HEV enters, replicates, and exits from the cell
Understand how other hepatotropic viruses such as HAV, HBV, HDV, and CMV infect hepatocytes
Identify common and unique virus-host interactions and methods for intervention
Use both traditional and modern approaches including liver organoids and artificial intelligence to decipher complex biological processes
Qualification
Required
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree
Strong background in virology, cell biology and/or biochemistry
Candidates should be capable of designing and carrying out high-level, complex research experiments independently
Effective communication skills and scientific writing skills
Preferred
Experiences in structural biology, RNA biology, or bioinformatics will be a plus but not required
Applicants with a good track record of publication are desirable
