Drafter / Engineering Technician

The Drafter / Engineering Technician will design and develop products using software, provide technical support, and handle drafting work, contributing to various departments within the company.

Machinery

Responsibilities

Providing technical support for the Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing departments
Reviewing Sales and Marketing information and/or customer requirements and advise on feasibility and estimated cost of the potential products
Participating in the development of product catalogs and promotional literature
Working with Lab Technicians on product performance and verification tests, conduct tests if needed and analyze test results in conjunction with Project Engineers
Assisting the Quality Department in the development of Procedures and Work Instructions
Developing and draw assembly and detail drawings, conceptual designs, Bill of Materials using specifications provided by the Project Engineers
Maintaining and update drawing, drawing files and Engineering Library
Following established quality system Procedures and Work Instructions
Other duties as assigned

Required

Able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
Blueprint Information
Geometric dimensioning and tolerance is required
Familiar with computer-based systems operation
Self-Starter and Motivator: Able to develop effective relationships with distributors, regional sales managers, and customers
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry
Ability to sure database software, design software, development software, Project Management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
Listens and gets clarification
Responds well to questions
Write clearly and informatively
Able to read and interpret written information
Associate's degree or equivalent required

Preferred

6 months-1 year experience in a related environment preferred
