Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP is a national law firm focusing on labor and employment defense. They are seeking an experienced full-time Paralegal to assist with labor and employment defense and business litigation work, managing case files and preparing various legal documents.

Responsibilities

Managing case files, including threatened litigation, EEOC charges, and litigation matters

Corresponding with courts, clients, local counsel, and opposing counsel

Managing document productions

Preparing, revising, and formatting pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents

Researching applicable case law, court rules, statutes, and ordinances

Filing in both state and federal courts and with administrative agencies

Assisting in preparation for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and hearings

Presentation of case summaries and courses of action to supervising attorneys

Responsible for recording personal billable time

Required

Prior legal experience necessary

Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate

High-quality level of customer service, professionalism, and interpersonal skills (oral and written)

Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Knowledge of Adobe (or similar) software and ability to create, edit, modify, redact, and protect pdf files

Experience with document management software

Must be self-motivated and proactive

Attention to detail

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills

Preferred

employment law background is a plus

NetDocuments knowledge is a plus
