Distribution Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Develops designs, construction drawings, and list of materials for projects involving the installation/removal/modification of overhead and underground electrical utility infrastructure focusing on distribution, and transmission
Understands how to apply engineering standards to designs
May interact with customers to evaluate their needs for service. These tasks may include the scheduling, engineering, and construction of customer projects connecting to the grid
Improves efficiency of the Design department’s processes
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
2+ years of utility design experience (ComEd preferred)
Knowledge of utility engineering standards and industry codes
Proficient in drafting, GIS, and pole loading software
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required
Preferred
Previous design experience for Exelon Utilities
Proficient in drafting, GIS, and pole loading software
F.E., P.E., or other certifications
