SBA Closer
Climate First Bank is redefining community banking with a strong commitment to sustainability and ethical practices. The SBA Closer will manage the workflow of SBA loans from approval to closing, ensuring compliance and providing exceptional service to borrowers throughout the process.

Responsibilities
Manage SBA loan workflow from application approval through closing and funding
Coordinate with BDOs, underwriters, borrowers, and SBA to ensure accurate documentation and timely execution
Oversee collateral review, due diligence, and closing documentation; maintain compliance with SBA and bank standards
Work with Lender Service Provider (LSP) and Loan Operations to facilitate funding and resolve closing issues promptly
Apply expert knowledge of SBA SOP to review loans for eligibility and proper structuring
Ensure complete and accurate loan files; submit approvals through ETRAN and maintain audit-ready documentation
Monitor changes in SBA guidelines and implement updates in closing processes
Serve as primary point of contact for borrowers and internal teams throughout the closing process
Address inquiries and resolve issues with a service-first approach, ensuring exceptional borrower experience
Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Identify and escalate potential compliance or fraud concerns; collaborate with Compliance for resolution
Complete all required compliance and IT training; stay informed on regulatory changes impacting SBA lending
Demonstrate commitment to social, economic, environmental, and racial justice
Engage in ongoing education related to sustainability practices and core values
Identify and mitigate credit weaknesses and policy exceptions to safeguard both the bank and borrowers
Assign accurate credit risk ratings and adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with Compliance to investigate suspicious activity and prevent fraud
Stay informed on legal and regulatory changes; complete all compliance and IT training promptly
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of SBA processing or closing experience with deep knowledge of SBA SOP and products
Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
Clear, professional communication across phone, video, and written channels
Strong understanding of SBA lending processes, compliance requirements, and operational best practices
Proficiency in SBA systems (ETRAN), loan processing platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional time management and workflow organization
Collaborative approach that supports team goals and fosters a positive, solutions-oriented environment
Stay informed and compliant with all regulatory policies, including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
Formal credit training a plus
