Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a Payloads Design Engineer to support the design and development of commercial aircraft interior systems. This role focuses on the full product lifecycle, from early design and configuration through manufacturing support, testing, and certification.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior system requirements
Support testing and validation to ensure systems meet design and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with suppliers to support design optimization, testing, and production
Provide engineering support to the production floor, especially during first-time or complex builds
Contribute to improving design tools, processes, and analysis methods
Support research into new technologies for future aircraft interior designs
Develop and modify designs using 3D CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.)

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
2+ years of relevant experience (or Master's with 0+ years)
2+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling
Experience working on cross-functional engineering or production teams
5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Strong background in 3D modeling and design
Experience owning designs and working more independently
9+ years of relevant engineering experience
Senior-level ownership of design efforts and mentoring capabilities
Strong experience across design, manufacturing, and certification support

Preferred

Aerospace engineering and design release processes
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Ability to meet schedule and delivery deadlines
Familiarity with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA regulations
