Responsibilities
Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clinical appropriateness
Compound medications using standard formulas and processes, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
Direct and support pharmacy staff engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals
Provide information on medication usage, dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions as needed
Maintain procedures related to quality assurance, controlled substance security, and hazardous drug disposal
Enter and maintain accurate patient, medication, cost, and inventory data within pharmacy systems
Perform checks to verify medication identity, purity, and strength
Support training and guidance for interns and other pharmacy personnel
Operate in a distribution-style pharmacy environment, including occasional cart movement
Qualification
Required
Active Pharmacist license in the state of Illinois
Bachelor's degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
At least one year of professional pharmacy experience
Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and perform light physical tasks
Preferred
Experience in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy settings
Experience handling high-volume prescription workflows
Self-motivated mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
