Responsibilities
Advises company on various compliance matters, including adherence to various laws and company policies
Develop compliance policies, procedures, processes, and systems
Conduct compliance risk assessments and oversee compliance hotline monitoring
Conduct internal investigations and prepare internal investigation reports
Conduct various legal audits
Assist with business partner code of conduct compliance matters
Assist with governmental affairs compliance matters
Conduct legal training to educate Team Members on applicable laws
Prepare annual compliance report
Oversee company’s e-discovery system
Track and report any compliance, risk management, or legal developments in laws that may affect company
Advise company on legal risk management matters, including mitigation of legal risk, and procurement of insurance
Assist company with crisis management plans
Coordinates with other Legal & Compliance Team Members to accomplish departmental objectives
Always display exemplary ethical behavior, including: (1) being free of undue influence and conflicts of interest; (2) strictly complying with HMMA policies and procedures; (3) being honest, transparent, and accountable; (4) report all known illegal or unethical behavior; and (5) protecting confidential information
Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Associate General Counsel or General Counsel
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited Law School required
6+ years of job-related experience
Member in Good Standing of the Alabama State Bar (Attorney or Authorized House Counsel)

Excellent verbal and written skills
