Confidential is a privately held family office seeking a Head of Real Estate Acquisitions to establish and lead a newly formed real estate investment arm. This role involves building the acquisitions strategy, sourcing and executing transactions, and serving as a key investment partner to the principals.

Responsibilities

Partner with principals to define the real estate investment strategy, target markets, asset classes, and risk parameters

Build the acquisitions infrastructure, including sourcing channels, underwriting standards, and investment processes

Develop relationships with operating partners, brokers, lenders, and joint venture partners

Originate proprietary and off-market investment opportunities across targeted asset classes

Lead all aspects of transaction execution, including underwriting, valuation, structuring, negotiations, and due diligence

Prepare and present investment memoranda and recommendations to the investment committee/principals

Oversee closing processes and coordinate with legal, tax, and financing counterparties

Drive disciplined capital deployment aligned with long-term family office objectives

Evaluate value-add, opportunistic, and core-plus investments depending on mandate

Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitive dynamics to inform acquisition decisions

Hire and manage acquisitions and underwriting talent as the platform scales

Collaborate closely with asset management, finance, and operations to ensure seamless transition post-acquisition

Support portfolio-level strategic decisions, including refinancings, dispositions, and recapitalizations

Required

7+ years of real estate acquisitions or principal investing experience, ideally within a family office, private equity firm, or institutional investor

Demonstrated track record of sourcing and executing successful real estate investments

Strong underwriting, financial modeling, and investment judgment across relevant asset classes

Deep broker and industry relationships with the ability to source differentiated opportunities

Entrepreneurial mindset with experience building or scaling an investment platform

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with principals and senior stakeholders

Preferred

Experience investing across multiple geographies or asset types

Background in both direct acquisitions and joint venture structures

Familiarity with long-term, patient capital investment horizons
