Responsibilities
Operates excavators, draglines and cranes to dig channels in waterways and to build levees
Operates excavators in marsh areas to rebuild and repair levees, marsh terraces, and drainage ditches
Operates bulldozers and backhoes to clear land, new excavation, spreading dirt and aggregates, and for land leveling
Operates farm tractors in clearing brush, mowing, moving dirt and aggregates, grading roads and fields
Operates pile driver and vibratory hammer to drive pilings and sheet piles for various structures
Operates excavators and cranes to load and off load equipment and supplies at remote facilities and docks
Operates excavators, trucks, dump trucks, and boats to transport material, supplies and equipment to job sites
Makes minor repairs to equipment and performs user maintenance which is necessary to keep equipment in clean, good working order
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience in mobile equipment operations
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel throughout Louisiana, including overnight stay and early morning departure
Ability to work a rotating work schedule as well as night work in boats and airboats
Ability to stay on remote facilities, tugs and houseboats for up to 8 days and 7 nights at a time and work a revolving 8 days on 6 days off 'hitch'
