Responsibilities

Grow strategic partnerships with industry, federal labs, mission-driven agencies, and foundations
Champion translation and commercialization, ensuring Mines’ research delivers tangible results and societal impact
Collaborate across the university to connect faculty with funding opportunities, multi-partner initiatives, and commercialization pathways
Lead large-scale, complex initiatives, involving multi-investigator and multi-partner teams
Promote Mines’ research ecosystem, communicating its scope, relevance, and impact to diverse audiences
Ensure compliance and efficiency, guiding a small but high-performing team while aligning with federal and state expectations

Required

A doctoral degree in a discipline aligned with Mines' programs
10+ years of experience conducting and/or managing research in academia, industry, or federal environments
Proven ability to lead through change and adapt to evolving funding landscapes
Familiarity with the priorities of major funding organizations (federal agencies, industry, foundations)
Strong presentation, communication, and listening skills
A track record of collaborative leadership and team management
Established networks with state, national, or global boards, labs, or research organizations
