Zoox is transforming mobility with fully autonomous, electric vehicles designed for a driverless future. They are seeking an Embedded Software Development Intern to work on embedded software for device drivers and systems within the Sensor Emulators and Test Infrastructure team.

Work on embedded software for device drivers

Contribute to embedded systems design

Develop HIL test assets

Qualification

Required

Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or other advanced degree in a relevant engineering field

Plan to return to school after completing the internship

Maintain good academic standing

Available to commit to either a 12-week internship (beginning in May or June 2026), or a 6-month co-op

At least one prior industry internship, co-op, or relevant project experience

Willing and able to relocate to the Bay Area, California, for the duration of the internship

Experience with C and C++

Knowledge of Linux

Experience with Git

Preferred

Solid Python skills

Experience with build systems like Bazel

Experience with embedded Linux tools like Yocto or Petalinux

Knowledge of FPGA

Experience with Docker
