Responsibilities

Manage Retail Excess Casualty portfolio, underwriting new and renewal business to drive profitable growth aligned with risk appetite and business strategy

Evaluate, structure, and price risks by determining capacity, attachment points, terms, and conditions across diverse Middle Market, Corporate Risk and National accounts

Exercise underwriting authority to quote, bind, and manage accounts while ensuring pricing discipline and profitability

Serve as a market-facing underwriter, building strong broker and client relationships and representing the company in meetings and industry events

Partner closely with Claims, Legal, Actuarial, and Business Development to deliver informed underwriting decisions and a consistent value proposition

Leverage data, analytics, and underwriting tools to improve decision-making, workflow efficiency, and portfolio performance

Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics within the assigned territory

Required

5+ years of Commercial Excess Casualty underwriting experience

Skilled in Commercial Casualty insurance with experience in Middle Market and Corporate Risk strongly preferred

Proven ability to evaluate risk, negotiate terms, and make sound business decisions within assigned authority

Strong relationship management and communication skills with brokers, insureds, and internal partners

Ability to travel up to 25% as needed to support broker and client relationships
