New Grad, Entry LevelAmerican Equity Investment Life Insurance Company is seeking an Accounts Payable Accounting Associate to support their financial operations. The primary duties include processing accounts payable invoices, coordinating vendor payments, and reconciling general ledger accounts while providing valuable support to professional staff.

Responsibilities
Organizes, analyzes and processes all accounts payable invoices
Maintains vendor records
Assists with annual 1099 processing
Prepares general ledger account reconciliations
Performs research as needed on accounts payable invoices and payments
Assist in the preparation of financial reports where appropriate
Posts miscellaneous journal entries as needed
Performs other related work as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Prior accounts payable experience required
Strong customer service skills while working with internal and external stakeholders
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in the use of MicroSoft Office Suite
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred
Prior purchase order experience preferred
Prior general ledger accounting experience preferred
