Business Analyst - Corporate Strategy

DTE Vantage is part of DTE Energy, one of the largest diversified energy companies in the United States. They are seeking a Business Analyst for their Corporate Strategy group to analyze industry trends, assess capital investments, and support corporate-level M&A activities.

Responsibilities

Understanding industry trends and their implications for DTE, e.g., by assessing in the impact of new technologies like distributed energy resources on the company’s operations and bottom line

Analyzing the value and the risks of major capital investments, such as the rebuilding of the electric grid and developing DTE’s long-term technology investment strategy

Supporting corporate-level M&A activity, most recently running the Separation Management Office during DTE’s recent spin-off of DT Midstream

Driving efforts to transform our operations, through cost and rate benchmarking and by driving efforts to improve productivity and work management processes in our operating businesses; and

Facilitating senior management’s strategic planning process, including the preparation of the annual strategic Board offsite discussions

Required

Quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g., engineering, economics, finance or similar) from an accredited college or university

Strong analytical (incl. spreadsheet modeling) and problem-solving skills

Ability to deliver results against tight timelines

High level of integrity, accountability and confidence

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

Ability to work effectively with people at all levels, both within and outside the company

Stand or walk and stoop or kneel. Frequently, the employee is required to sit

Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use wrists, hands and/or fingers in a repetitive motion; and reach with hands and arms extensively
