DTE Vantage is one of the largest diversified utilities in the United States, and they are seeking a Senior Associate to join their Corporate Strategy group. The role involves contributing to multi-disciplinary teams engaged in strategic initiatives, analyzing industry trends, and supporting corporate-level M&A activity.

Responsibilities

Understanding industry trends and their implications for DTE, e.g., by assessing the impact of new technologies like distributed energy resources on the company’s operations and bottom line

Analyzing the value and the risks of major capital investments, such as the rebuilding of the electric grid and developing DTE’s long-term technology investment strategy

Supporting corporate-level M&A activity, e.g., by playing a leadership role in the Separation Management Office during DTE’s recent spin-off of DT Midstream

Driving efforts to transform our operations, through cost and rate benchmarking and by driving efforts to improve productivity and work management processes in our operating businesses; and

Facilitating senior management’s strategic planning process, including the preparation of the annual strategic Board offsite discussions

Required

MBA or a Master's Degree/PhD in a relevant field from a top-tier university, ideally combined with an undergraduate degree in an analytical field (e.g., engineering or economics)

One to two years of post-MBA experience, ideally in management consulting, investment banking or other highly rigorous environments

Occasionally stand or walk and stoop or kneel. Frequently, the employee is required to sit

Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use wrists, hands and/or fingers in a repetitive motion; and reach with hands and arms extensively

Occasionally lift objects of up to 10 pounds in weight

Use computers with exposure to video display terminals; and some repetitive motion associated with data entry, the use of a computer mouse, and while using other office equipment

Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
