Responsibilities
Lead the accounting and administration of the Private Equity Management Incentive Plan (MIP). This includes overseeing equity accounting, tracking vesting conditions, and managing calculations for stock-based compensation expense (ASC 718)
Research and document the Company's technical accounting issues. Prepare high-quality technical accounting memos on complex transactions (including debt, equity, and M&A) to support management conclusions and audit requirements
Assist with the preparation of the monthly close and the Company's private company financial statements
Present and resolve the Company's positions for critical accounting issues with external auditors. Coordinate the review of filings with auditors, inside/outside legal counsel, and the disclosure committee
Assess and implement new or changes to US GAAP. Draft and update Corporate Accounting Policies as needed throughout the engagement
Lead special projects as assigned by leadership, which may include system implementations, process improvements to align controls with business risks, and support for strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
B.S./B.A. degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum of 7–10 years of total experience, with at least 3–4 years of Big 4 public accounting experience required
Strong technical accounting background with expert knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation
Ability to work flexibly and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Must be meticulous with superior attention to detail and capable of working independently to complete work in a timely manner
Preferred
CPA highly preferred
Specific experience managing Equity/MIP programs for Private Equity-backed companies is a significant plus
