Platform/Network/Teleservices Engineering Lead
Computer World Services Corp. (CWS) is seeking a Platform/Network/Teleservices Engineering Lead who will serve as the senior technical leader responsible for overseeing engineering support across various environments within a complex DoD enterprise. This role involves leading engineering teams, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity requirements, and delivering high-quality engineering services across multiple networks.

Responsibilities
Lead and mentor platform, network, cloud, and teleservices engineering teams
Oversee engineering tasks across multiple environments and enclaves
Serve as liaison between technical teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders
Plan, track, and report on engineering project stages, risks, and impacts
Ensure teams produce high-quality documentation, including design documents, troubleshooting guides, system configurations, and lessons learned
Provide engineering support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS
Execute change control processes; support Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
Design, test, validate, and deploy engineering changes; ensure post-deployment monitoring
Perform: System monitoring & performance tuning
Network configuration engineering
Zero Trust Network Architecture implementation support
IPv6 migration & processing
Technology assessments & recommendations
Maintain Information Systems Contingency Plans (ISCP)
Deliver engineering support in: Infrastructure services
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
Monitoring & lifecycle management
Cloud technologies (PaaS, SaaS, containerization)
Provide engineering support for key enterprise technologies: SQL, MECM, SCOM
Directory Services
Microsoft/Linux platforms
Conduct studies, cost/benefit analysis, and alternatives analysis for modernization initiatives
Support enterprise fax and unified communication environments
Administer PostgreSQL instances supporting call recording and A/V conference systems
Support Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
Manage VMWare ESXi instances supporting UNCOMM services
Ensure STIG compliance, vulnerability remediation, and patch management across UC systems
Develop POA&Ms, AORs, and SOLs when necessary
Ensure engineering alignment with DoD, GSA, and DFAS policies and best practices
Provide detailed engineering presentations across platform, operations, teleservices, and IA areas
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete patching, remediation, and lifecycle management activities
Support storage architecture design, capacity planning, and storage engineering
Demonstrated success managing technical environments of similar size and scope within DoD or Federal environments
Proven ability to lead and develop teams in high-pressure, customer-focused environments
Expertise implementing and enforcing DoD STIG, IAVM, and cybersecurity compliance
Strong working knowledge of: Platform engineering (Windows, Linux, virtualization, directory services)
Network engineering (design, configuration, monitoring)
Cloud and hybrid environments
Unified Communications / Teleservices
Experience performing engineering analysis: cost, risk, performance modeling, and alternatives analysis
Ability to plan, initiate, execute, and lead complex engineering projects
Excellent communication skills for senior government briefings
Engineering design documentation & Critical Design Review materials
Change control documentation
System configuration baselines
Lessons learned reports
ISCP documentation
Engineering studies, alternatives analyses, and project cost estimates
Weekly status updates and performance reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Eight (8) years of progressive experience in IT engineering, platform operations, network engineering, or a closely related IT management discipline involving oversight of large, complex, multi-site programs
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent – REQUIRED
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Selective Service registration required (if applicable)
Secret Security Clearance required
Must maintain fitness and eligibility for national security positions
