Product Development Engineering Co-op, Robotics
Neptune Medical is an innovative medical device startup headquartered in Burlingame, CA, focused on developing a fully flexible medical robot. They are seeking a product development engineering co-op to assist their robotics R&D team with testing, prototyping, and documentation tasks.

Responsibilities
Assist with extensive testing, including on the bench and in tissue models
Conceive of, design, build, test, and evolve prototypes
Design and implement fixtures that can be used for design and manufacturing optimization
CAD components and assemblies
Develop test methods, protocols, and reports to evaluate components, systems, and processes
Create manufacturing methods & documentation, including Manufacturing Process Instructions and Bills of Materials
Perform analytical calculations
Work closely with vendors
Work well both independently and as part of a fast-moving, collaborative team
Qualification
Required
Current undergraduate or master's student majoring in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. Related majors are acceptable. Applicants must be returning to finish their education after the duration of the co-op
Significant hands-on engineering experience
Familiarity with basic hand tools and fabrication methods such as machining, injection molding, and 3D printing
Familiarity working with electromechanical systems and data analysis with Matlab/Python
Inventive and balanced with discipline and attention to detail
A demonstrated desire to play an important role in a medical device start-up
Good communication skills
