Responsibilities

Manage and direct the day to day activities of the Test Engineering Group
Monitor and report direct employee performance to Sr. Operations Manager and prepare formal Performance Appraisal Reports for direct reports
Collaborate with Management (Engineering and Operations), Engineers (Mfg, Quality, Test, and Design), and Lead Test Technicians to resolve problems and suggest improvements with materials, process and/or documentation
Foster communication between Operations and Engineering to share lessons learned with a focus on raising awareness within both parts of the organization
Establish, refine and enforce consistent documentation and process standards across electronic design and test
Provide technical direction and oversight to individuals in the Group and to program teams, ensuring high standards of technical competence and achievement
Estimate labor and schedule resources as required to operate and adhere to budget and schedule commitments
Support Business Development efforts including proposals
Define capital, tools, equipment and other resources required by both the Product Test Function and active/future products
Contribute to proposals and BOEs for design, construction and support of test equipment
Provide system test and evaluation support including input to test plans and procedures
Promote cordial relationships and foster and maintain a favorable business profile with customers, suppliers, co-workers, industry and professional associations, government agencies, and the local community
Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management
Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches
Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products
Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results

Required

Bachelors Degree with a minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
Management: Ability to coordinate and administer programs, activities and protocols. Ability to manage resources, monitor activities and assess environmental risk, safety, and quality control associated with the program
Leadership: Demonstrated skills and abilities needed to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments
Working knowledge of in-water acoustic test processes, systems and PWB testing and troubleshooting
Prior Acoustic test or Navy Sonar testing are major benefits
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship
Valid state driver's license

Preferred

Self-motivated individual with the ability to work and communicate effectively within a development group
Works in a typical office environment with exposure to light manufacturing environment and outside weather elements
The use of safety equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas
