Lead AI Computer Scientist for Robotics – Motion, Vision, Planning & Multi-Modal Interaction

The role of Lead AI Computer Scientist for Robotics focuses on advancing robotic intelligence and multi-modal perception for the Arrive Point platform, involving research and development of algorithms and models for seamless human-robot interactions.

Responsibilities
Invent New Algorithms: Research and develop AI algorithms for motion planning, computer vision, and decision-making for drones, cobots, and autonomous devices
Multi-Modal Model Development: Design, fine-tune, and deploy multi-modal foundational models that integrate vision, voice, text, gesture, and physical-world signals for intuitive end-user and environmental interactions
Tame Foundational Models: Adapt and extend robotics and multi-modal foundational models for real-world deployments , balancing lab performance with production constraints
Lead One-Shot & Few-Shot Training: Build frameworks for one-shot and few-shot learning to let robots generalize new skills from limited data
Build Continuous Learning Pipelines: Architect data systems to collect real-world data, capture edge cases, and feed back into model retraining for continuous improvement
Design Planning & Reasoning Engines: Work on algorithms for real-time planning, navigation, and multi-agent coordination , ensuring systems can make smart decisions on the fly
Leverage Simulation Tools: Use NVIDIA Isaac, Omniverse, Cosmo, and Gr00T for training, simulating, and validating models before physical deployment
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside robotics engineers, software developers, and product designers to turn advanced AI into practical, safe, and delightful user experiences
Contribute Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of research in robotics AI, multi-modal interaction, and foundation models — and help Arrive AI shape the industry narrative
Qualification
Required
PHD (or equivalent research depth) in Computer Science, AI/ML, Robotics, or a closely related field
History of forming, growing and managing teams of Data Scientists and Robotic Engineers
Proven contributions in robotic perception, planning, control, or multi-modal AI (papers, patents, open-source contributions, or industry breakthroughs)
Experience working with vision-language-action models and combining multiple modalities for user interaction and physical-world understanding
Hands-on experience adapting and tuning foundational models for robotic and multi-modal use cases
Depth in one-shot, few-shot, reinforcement learning, and transfer learning for robotics or automation
Experience designing data pipelines for AI — from collection to annotation to edge-case ingestion and continuous model retraining
Advanced skills in Python and C++, plus frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ROS; NVIDIA ecosystem knowledge (Isaac, Omniverse, Gr00T) is a major plus
Familiarity with IoT, collaborative robots (cobots), and edge AI systems that blend digital intelligence with physical devices
Ability to turn messy real-world robotics challenges into structured AI problems and solve them with elegant, scalable approaches
Excels at working across disciplines — bridging deep research with engineering realities
