Responsibilities
Prepare and review comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives
Advise clients on strategies to minimize estate and gift taxes, avoid probate, and establish and administer various types of trusts
Assist in the administration of estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with the decedent’s wishes
Represent clients in estate, trust, and fiduciary litigation, including will and trust contests, breaches of fiduciary duty, and contested probate matters
Partner with financial advisors, accountants, and insurance professionals to deliver integrated estate and tax planning solutions
Conduct meetings with clients to understand their goals, develop customized estate plans, and provide clear, practical legal guidance
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience handling complex estate planning and administration matters
Admission to the Maryland Bar (or eligibility to sit for the Maryland Bar)
Preferred
LL.M. in Taxation with an emphasis on Estates and Trusts
CPA designation with relevant experience
Admission to the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Florida Bars
