Electrical Systems Engineer II (Hybrid)
Collins Aerospace is a leader in aerospace technology, and they are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer II to provide systems engineering support across assigned programs. The role involves developing and managing electrical system-level requirements for engine control systems, performing control system analyses, and integrating various components and subsystems in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and allocate electrical system-level requirements for engine control systems
Perform control system analyses to support requirements development and verification activities for electrical & electro-mechanical products
Integrate engine control system components and subsystems, including Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), electro-mechanical interface devices, sensors, actuators, valves, fuel pumps, and fuel controls
Coordinate engine-level electrical requirements and verification plans across multidisciplinary teams within Collins and with external customers
Support the validation and verification of electrical product requirements through analysis, development testing, and acceptance/qualification/certification testing
Analyze engine parameter data, support investigations using Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies and identify issues down to the component level for resolution by the responsible Integrated Project Team (IPT)
Promote and advance the use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies, such as Cameo Systems Modeler and Dymola to enhance system development and integration
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution preferred
Experience with aerospace gas turbine engine or aircraft system design, development, and operational support programs
Experience with engine or aircraft control systems
Experience with engine or aircraft electrical subsystems. Experience with engine or aircraft fuel, oil, air, actuation, and thermal management subsystems is also desirable
Experience with engine or aircraft control system electrical subsystem components, including Controllers, Engine Electronic Controllers (EECs), Full Authority Digital Engine Controls (FADECs), generators/alternators, motors, engine sensors (pressure, temperature, displacement, speed), engine ignition components (exciters, leads, ignitors), and servo valves. Experience with non-electrical control system components is also desirable, including pumps, heat exchangers, gearboxes, air turbine starters, fuel nozzles, filters/screens, and 2-way, 3-way, modulating, regulating, check, and relief valves
Experience with electrical boards, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), power supply and conversion circuits, logic and control circuits, motor control circuits, sensing circuits, valve/effector circuits, harnesses, and connectors
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; DOORS and DXL (or equivalent); MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, Dymola (or equivalent physics-based modeling tools); and SysML, MagicDraw, or Cameo Systems Modeler (or equivalent Model-Based Systems Engineering platforms)
Experience with aerospace electrical systems requirements development, validation, and verification, including EMI/EMC, grounding, bonding, dielectric design, EEE parts, ESD/lightning, and cable, wire, connector, and pin requirements
Understanding of system controls and dynamics modeling, verification, and validation
Active DoD Secret clearance preferred, or the ability to obtain one
Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
