Responsibilities
Analyze BoMs, and redesign parts to lower COGS, increasing yield and throughput
Select/qualify resins and bonding/welding methods to improve chemical compatibility and reliability
Build should-cost models and negotiate with suppliers to optimize tooling, cavitation, cycle time, and material usage, delivering cost down savings
Plan and execute lean validations with manufacturing (e.g., IQ/OQ/PQ equivalents, DOE) to accelerate releases
Standardize drawings, specs, and SOPs; mentor technicians/engineers to scale improvements across sites and product families
Improve microfluidic assemblies design and manufacturing
Qualification
Required
Education: B.S. in Materials/Plastics/Polymer, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline
Work Experience: 6+ years of industry experience
A solid understanding of statistical techniques and the ability to solve manufacturing and operational issues
Strong communication, interpersonal, consultative, and relationship-management skills, with experience collaborating across R&D, QA/RA, Manufacturing, and Suppliers
Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) methods; familiarity with moldflow/DFM, bonding (solvent/laser/ultrasonic/adhesive), and change control
Preferred
Microfluidics experience is highly desirable
