Responsibilities
Architect and deploy LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless solutions for client environments
Configure and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
Oversee network monitoring tools (e.g., Datto, LogicMonitor, PRTG) to ensure uptime and performance
Perform proactive maintenance and capacity planning
Act as Tier 3 escalation for complex network issues
Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
Follow ITIL-aligned processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management
Prepare and submit detailed change requests, including risk assessments, rollback plans, and impact analysis
Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and ensure all changes are documented and approved before implementation
Implement network security best practices, including firewall policies, IDS/IPS, and VLAN segmentation
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA)
Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and change logs
Provide regular performance and incident reports to management and clients
Collaborate with clients on network strategy, upgrades, and migrations
Participate in technical meetings and provide consultative guidance
Qualification
Required
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience: 5+ years in network engineering roles, preferably in MSP or NOC environments
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar platforms
Certifications: CCNP or equivalent required; CCIE, JNCIP, or similar preferred
ITIL Foundation certification strongly preferred
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, QoS
Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN technologies
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Ability to mentor junior engineers and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Ansible)
Exposure to virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and storage networking
