Accounting Assistant
Unknown Nations is a Christian ministry focused on reaching unreached people groups with the gospel. The Accounting Assistant supports the finance team with routine accounting and recordkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with internal controls.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Perform electronic filing (e-filing) and maintain accurate organized financial and grant records
Prepare wire transfer and ACH documentation for review and approval by authorized personnel
Process routine accounting entries under supervision
Perform AP and AR support tasks in a preparatory capacity; this role does not independently authorize payments, credits, or adjustments
Assist with bank and general ledger account reconciliations, with all reconciliations reviewed by a supervisor
Maintain documentation to support transparency, audits, and funder requirements
Support month-end and year-end close activities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience or education in accounting, finance, or non-profit administration
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in using or learning software applications such as Sage, Monday.com, and Virtuous
