They are seeking Entry & Mid-Level Structures & Systems Design Engineers to provide technical expertise and analytical solutions for spacecraft development, working within a collaborative team to support design and development phases.

Responsibilities

Work in an IPT to develop airframe structural configuration layouts
Model initial concepts of new or modified aerostructures using CREO Parametric
Generate and mature design concepts to the customer’s specified level of definition, which may be limited to lofted surface definition and Interface Control Models (ICM), or extend to the development of individual component models, assemblies, and installation models and release of production drawings or MBDs
Work with the Stress analysis group to incorporate structural sizing requirements
Manage the product definition within the Windchill PDM environment
Support the generation and review of reports and presentation materials for internal and customer
Primary and secondary aerospace structures (metallic and composite)
Control surfaces and actuation systems
Integrated pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical system installations
Cryogenic Fluid Tube Design & Routing
Aerospace mechanical systems
Propulsion system installations

Required

Understanding of aerospace engineering principles, aerospace primary structures or concepts related to metallic and composite aircraft systems and structures
Experience Performing Systems/Structural Layouts, including presentations at PDR/CDR
Design Engineer: 1 to 4 years of applied experience
U.S. citizenship or a ‘Green Card' is required. Applicants must be able to show proof of U.S. citizenship or a ‘Green Card' as part of the ability to meet ITAR Compliance standards
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent

Preferred

CREO Parametric is a plus, need to be able to model both in 2D and 3D
Experience Leading Systems/Structural Layouts is a plus
Knowledge in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009 drafting standard is a plus
