Responsibilities
Conduct tests on food packaging and food items using lab equipment (Instron tensile tester, Taber testers, pH meter, moisture analyzer, etc.)
Design and execute experiments consistent with brand packaging handling
Analyze data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and communicate results to cross-functional teams
Write summaries and test reports and present findings in presentations
Assist with Spec and SOP updates
Manage lab spaces and equipment
Work in product life cycle systems
May occasionally work in the food lab (secondary)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, or similar
Ability to interpret data, adjust test procedures/processes
Strong written/verbal communication (summaries, reports, presentations)
Knowledge of packaging materials, substrates, and surface treatments
Familiarity with lab equipment and environments
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Teamwork and time management skills
Preferred
1+ year of experience is preferred, but recent grads are welcome to apply
Experience in product life cycle systems preferred
Experience in a food lab preferred
