Responsibilities
Drive branch success through sales performance, service excellence, and community involvement—ensuring member needs are met with proactive and personalized support
Provide consistent mentorship and career guidance that helps employees grow their skills, meet individual goals, and prepare for future opportunities
Conduct regular performance reviews using BECU competencies and create a culture of appreciation and accountability by recognizing strengths and coaching growth areas
Oversee day-to-day branch operations and scheduling, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent service aligned with BECU standards and member expectations
Engage with local communities to expand awareness of BECU’s mission and services and create opportunities to grow membership and member value
Set and model clear expectations for service excellence, reinforcing positive behaviors and offering direct coaching to ensure every member experience exceeds expectations
Support annual branch budgeting in partnership with the District Director, ensuring expenses align with strategic goals and remain within approved limits
Build strong partnerships with BECU team members, business partners, and property management teams to ensure seamless branch operations and member experiences
Collaborate with Recruiting to bring in top talent and maintain a team aligned with BECU’s culture of service, trust, and continuous growth
Maintain awareness of credit union operations to ensure accurate and helpful information is shared with both members and staff
Encourage your team to find better ways of working and improve service by participating in process enhancements and quality initiatives
Ensure the branch meets all regulatory, training, and BECU environmental and branding standards
Serve as the primary contact for the facilities team and property management, keeping the branch environment safe, inviting, and consistent with BECU’s image
Support additional duties and evolving needs that strengthen the branch and BECU’s broader mission
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
Minimum one year of leadership experience
Minimum four years of experience in a sales, retail, or banking environment
Preferred
Leading a team of at least four direct reports
Experience in a financial institution
Compliance with SAFE Act legislation (annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator)
Ability to plan, organize, and implement projects in a timely manner
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
Strong training, mentoring, and sales skills
Excellent conceptual and problem-solving skills with minimal guidance
Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment
Effective relationship development and marketing skills
Ability to effectively present information and/or training to individuals and groups
Ability to create a sales/service environment and motivate staff
Effective leadership and negotiation skills
Proficient math skills with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet branch needs
