Responsibilities

Monitor and Respond to Network and Security Events: Proactively monitor network performance, connectivity, and security alerts. Investigate and resolve issues related to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security appliances
Design and Implement Network Solutions: Participate in the architecture, design, and deployment of secure network infrastructure to support new applications, cloud services, and emerging technologies. Contribute to network expansion and scalability planning
Ensure Cybersecurity Compliance: Audit operating systems, network devices, and end-user configurations for compliance with cybersecurity standards and organizational policies. Implement best practices for data privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
Maintain Network Integrity and Security: Apply industry best practices for network hardening, segmentation, and access control. Ensure resilience against cyber threats through continuous improvement and vulnerability management
Manage Upgrades and Patch Management: Recommend, schedule, and perform firmware updates, security patches, and configuration changes for network devices and related systems
Administer Core Network Services: Maintain and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, VPN, email security gateways, and related network services. Ensure high availability and secure communication channels
Research and Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Stay current with advancements in networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and automation. Provide recommendations for adoption and integration
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration documentation, and operational procedures. Act as an escalation point for IT staff and provide training as needed
Develop Policies and Procedures: Establish and maintain network security policies, operational standards, and disaster recovery plans. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements
Expertise in Routing Protocols: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP to ensure optimal network performance and reliability
Project Management: Ability to manage and run IT/network projects using Microsoft Planner or similar project management tools, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in network engineering or administration
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall technologies
Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments a plus
Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) for network configuration
Familiarity with SIEM tools and advanced threat detection systems
