Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications organization, is seeking a Senior IP Network Engineer to support and evolve large-scale IP networks in a live production environment. This role focuses on real-time network design, troubleshooting, and optimization, requiring a proactive and technically strong networking professional.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and implement IP network solutions in production environments

Own BGP and OSPF routing design and operations across large-scale networks

Develop and maintain VRF designs to support scalable and segmented architectures

Support circuit turn-ups, migrations, and inherited network modernization efforts

Act as an escalation point for complex break-fix and performance issues

Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues across Ethernet, ATM, TDM, and legacy circuits

Maintain stability and performance across thousands of active network connections

Identify capacity, resiliency, and performance risks and drive corrective actions

Create, review, and execute MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for maintenance windows and migrations

Document network designs, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions

Contribute to operational runbooks, process flows, and network documentation standards

Monitor network health and performance across production environments

Work closely with network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia) on troubleshooting and support cases

Design or enhance automation and scripting solutions to improve NOC efficiency

Act as a liaison between network operations, engineering teams, vendors, and customer-facing groups

Required

5+ years of hands-on IP network engineering experience in live production environments

Deep expertise in BGP, including routing design and troubleshooting

Strong working knowledge of OSPF in enterprise or carrier-scale networks

Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing platforms

Solid understanding of VRF design and implementation

Experience troubleshooting Layer 2 technologies and legacy protocols (X25, XOT, Async, Reverse Telnet)

Comfortable working with legacy networking hardware in production environments
