Responsibilities

Covering the medicine infectious diseases, infectious diseases consult, antimicrobial stewardship, and general medicine shifts
Decentralized weekend coverage every 4th weekend and decentralized medicine evening coverage on a rotational basis
Sit on the system antimicrobial subcommittee as a voting pharmacy member
Lead/participate in novel quality improvement projects that improve the care of patients with infectious diseases and advance pharmacy practice
Residency and student training will be a central component of this position

Required

Requires at a minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and at least five years of pertinent work experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and post-graduate training, with at least three years of pertinent work experience, or a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy with post-graduate training or at least two years of relevant work experience
Work requires licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Massachusetts and/or eligible for licensure in the state of Massachusetts
Applicant can be licensed in another state and pending reciprocation
Deep knowledge of medications, their effects, drug interactions, medical procedures and therapies, diagnosis and disease states required
Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with hospital staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, colleagues, and others
Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines
An organized work style and ability to keep well written documentation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must possess self-management skills and require little to no supervision
Must possess and exhibit process improvement skills and acumen
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Experience with Microsoft programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and web browsers

Preferred

PGY2 training in internal medicine or infectious diseases
