Director/ExecutiveNEOGOV is seeking a Senior Director of Energy & Utilities who will lead the Energy & Utilities unit within Facilities Development & Operations at San Jose State University. The role involves overseeing the maintenance and operation of campus utility systems, managing budgets, and driving sustainability initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the leadership, administration, management, and supervisory oversight of all services and functions of the Energy & Utilities unit within Facilities Development & Operations
Ensure maintenance and operation of campus utility systems and infrastructure and fire/life safety and security systems
Manage and oversee all activities associated with maintenance and operation of critical infrastructure systems
Administer an assigned budget associated with recharge of services to the campus designed to address annual operational needs as well as necessary funding for future capital investments
Play a pivotal role in the development and execution of operational priorities while strategically planning for the future and steering the campus toward carbon neutrality
Establish strong relationships with campus clientele and outside agencies and drive forward a sustainability vision that considers the operational needs of the overall University
Responsible for the campus strategic energy conservation plan and work collaboratively with other leaders within Facilities Development & Operations to establish multi-year capital investment plans and utility master plans
Participate with other senior managers to develop, establish, and implement Department strategic and operational plans and initiatives
Qualification
Required
Leadership experience in energy and utilities management
Experience in administration and management of utility systems and infrastructure
Knowledge of fire/life safety and security systems
Experience in operational resiliency and efficiency
Ability to achieve carbon neutrality goals
Experience in budget administration and capital investment planning
Strong relationship-building skills with campus clientele and outside agencies
Experience in developing and executing operational priorities
Ability to establish multi-year capital investment plans and utility master plans
Experience in strategic planning and implementation of departmental initiatives
