Responsibilities

Lead and manage the daily operations of the maintenance department, including a staff of supervisors, technicians, and maintenance personnel
Take ownership of the preventive maintenance program: evaluate, redesign, and enforce adherence to ensure full compliance and performance
Ensure all maintenance and engineering tasks are clearly assigned, tracked, and completed on schedule
Identify and implement process improvement strategies to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve product quality (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
Oversee the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment
Serve as a key liaison between maintenance, production, quality teams
Monitor KPIs and track progress toward operational goals
Lead capital projects and equipment upgrades, ensuring completion on time and within budget
Provide technical support and training to staff to ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards
Maintain strong vendor and contractor relationships as needed for technical services or equipment purchases

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required)
Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven leadership experience managing teams of employees, including engineers or technical personnel
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and root cause analysis tools (DMAIC, 5 Whys, FMEA)
Experience managing capital improvement projects and working cross-functionally with operations and maintenance teams
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred

Six Sigma certification or Lean Manufacturing training
Experience in food, consumer goods, or high-volume industrial manufacturing
Proficient in CAD or similar design software
Working knowledge of PLCs and automation systems
