BIM Designer III
Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is expanding to De Soto, Kansas, to build the world’s largest lithium-ion battery factory. The BIM Designer III will be responsible for revising and creating design files, mentoring junior designers, and leading design projects while collaborating with engineers and contractors.

Responsibilities
Create design files of equipment and identify clashes between manufacturing equipment, process connections, and facility infrastructure
Prepare designs, layouts, drawings, and bills of material for major maintenance, facility improvements, and other projects
Federate and manage BIM structural, architectural, and MEP/FP models and CAD drawing files
Produce 3D models using the latest design specifications for graphic walk-throughs with Navisworks
Assist in designing equipment models for federated BIM models, including process, HVAC, and electrical connections
Export DWG, NWC, and other formats for collaboration
Develop conceptual designs for manufacturing/facility equipment and system expansions/upgrades
Review models, drawings, and details for accuracy and consistency
Schedule data for BIM models
Develop CAD/REVIT/BIM Templates
Navigate models for coordination
Conduct thorough clash detection studies and communicate with stakeholders effectively and quickly
Execute clash detection and resolve conflicts independently
Provide input for BIM and CAD department standards
Contribute to the creation and development of department/corporate standards
Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow designers, encourage best practices, and promote professional growth
Present model constructability issues and solutions to project stakeholders
Schedule and facilitate meetings to collaborate, influence, or elevate issues, ensuring tasks move forward with accountability
Present project status updates in meetings to stakeholders
Develop solid working relationships with engineers, vendors, and contractors
Communicate BIM Execution Plan and BIM Standards to internal and external partners
Report progress to the BIM & CAD Manager
Report issues to the BIM & CAD Manager for resolution or escalation
Document observations in a manufacturing facility to support design/construction coordination
Manage the transmittal process
Uphold 6S initiatives and ensure area cleanliness is maintained to safety and operational standards
Support proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience (minimum 4 years working with BIM models)
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience working with BIM models
Advanced proficiency in developing CAD/REVIT/BIM templates and executing clash detection with independent conflict resolution
Demonstrated ability to navigate and coordinate BIM models, including data scheduling
Strong communication skills, with ability to report progress and issues effectively to management and communicate orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders
Experience documenting observations in manufacturing or facility environments to support design and construction coordination
Proficiency with the transmittal process and contribution to department or corporate standards development
Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
Ability to prioritize activities and support multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit or AutoCAD
Building Information Modeling (BIM) Certification from recognized institutions (e.g., AGC BIM Certificate, Autodesk BIM Certificate)
Navisworks Certification
Bluebeam Certification
Advanced knowledge with BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks Manage, Bluebeam; Certification preferred)
Advanced knowledge of Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Digital Twin technologies
Experience in manufacturing and/or facilities management
